Singer and songwriter John Denver touched millions of people and reached superstar status by his folk-inspired pop hits most of which were based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born Henry John Deutschedorf in Roswell located in the state of New Mexico,, was in Love with Colorado. He moved to Aspen. Denver's popular songs about his state brought many people to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the hall's curator of fame, said: "I don't believe there any other performer who embodies Colorado as John Denver." Denver was the one of the first Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. Denver is a symbol of the state for all people. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief time with folk bands, was Denver's debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff wrote the tune with the inspiration of Johnny Cash, but Denver could hear the song's early versions and was aware that it was going to be one of the Top 10 hits. Danoff recorded the song just a few days following playing at Washington D.C. before an audience that was very enthusiastic.
